Refurbishing an Icon

When the elevator system in St. Louis’ famous Gateway Arch needed to be refurbished, the firm that won the contract approached PEM to produce the gearboxes responsible for driving the pulley system that controls the elevators. When other manufacturers experienced delays and were unable to perform their obligations, PEM received those jobs as well. As a result, the initial order ended up being four times more than expected.
